Lahmeh Bil Siniyeh

The fastest dish you could possibly make! It’s perfect with some bread and a nice bowl of yogurt.

15 min prep 25 min cook

Elements

  • 1 kg minced beef (with a little fat)
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 green bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely diced
  • 1 chili, finely chopped (optional)
  • 1 heaped tbsp seven spices
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ½ cup pomegranate molasses
  • 2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for the tray
  • Salt to taste
  • 2–3 tomatoes, thinly sliced
  • Coarse salt & black pepper

Alchemy

  1. Mix the minced beef with the onions, parsley, peppers, chili, seven spices, cinnamon, salt, olive oil, and pomegranate molasses until well combined.
  2. Lightly oil a baking tray and spread the meat mixture evenly into a thin layer.
  3. Arrange the tomato slices on top, then sprinkle with coarse salt, black pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil.
  4. Bake at 200°C for 15 minutes, then switch to the top grill for 8–10 minutes, just until the tomatoes are beautifully roasted. Be careful not to overcook so the meat stays juicy.
  5. Serve warm with fresh bread and yogurt.
