Elements
- 1 kg minced beef (with a little fat)
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 1 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 green bell pepper, finely diced
- 1 red bell pepper, finely diced
- 1 chili, finely chopped (optional)
- 1 heaped tbsp seven spices
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ½ cup pomegranate molasses
- 2 tbsp olive oil, plus extra for the tray
- Salt to taste
- 2–3 tomatoes, thinly sliced
- Coarse salt & black pepper
Alchemy
- Mix the minced beef with the onions, parsley, peppers, chili, seven spices, cinnamon, salt, olive oil, and pomegranate molasses until well combined.
- Lightly oil a baking tray and spread the meat mixture evenly into a thin layer.
- Arrange the tomato slices on top, then sprinkle with coarse salt, black pepper, and a drizzle of olive oil.
- Bake at 200°C for 15 minutes, then switch to the top grill for 8–10 minutes, just until the tomatoes are beautifully roasted. Be careful not to overcook so the meat stays juicy.
- Serve warm with fresh bread and yogurt.
