Classic Banana Bread
• Banana bread is one of those first recipes every home baker tries—and for a good reason! • It’s delicious, easy, and loved by kids and grown-ups alike. • This simple recipe yields a moist banana bread, and you can top it with anything you like. • I added chopped pecans and dark chocolate shavings for extra flavor.
Elements
- 3 ripe bananas
- 1½ cups sugar
- 1 cup yogurt
- 1 cup light vegetable oil
- 1 tbsp vanilla
- ½ cup chopped walnuts
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- Chopped pecans and chocolate shavings for topping
Alchemy
- Preheat your oven to 180°C. Prepare a rectangular loaf tin by greasing it and lining it with baking paper.
- Start by mashing the bananas in a bowl. Add the eggs, vanilla, and yogurt, then mix well.
- Gradually add the oil while mixing until well combined.
- Sift in the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, and baking soda. Stir until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared tin, then top with ½ cup of chopped pecans and chocolate shavings if desired (I used dark chocolate).
- Bake for about an hour or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Enjoy your moist, delicious banana bread!
